This quote defines how I am making my choices right now. Money is not my focus (obviously I need it to survive, unfortunately). I am not choosing a university based on how it’s going to benefit my future career and income. I’m choosing it based on where I feel comfortable, on the course I think I’ll enjoy the most. I am not going to university to increase my earning power, I’m going because I want to open up my world and learn.

Make choices based on what is in your heart, not the impact on your bank account. (Again, within reason.)

  1. I do not make a lot of money by any means, but I must admit I make pretty much all major decisions around money. I have a friend who would just travel a lot and work all these part times jobs and I could never do that. I need things like health insurance and retirement. BUT, I am also not super focused on making more money than I am right now.

    1. I think it’s all about balance. We a need a basic amount to live on, and some people are easier going than others about it. I have had a few conversations with people who aren’t doing what they want because it doesn’t pay as much as they have now, or they need to invest in learning but they don’t want to take the risk they won’t get it back. And these people aren’t poor by any means. It makes me sad that money dictates our lives.
