What is Bullet Journaling?
It’s the system that has saved my organisational life! It’s a system originally devised by Ryder Caroll and has been adapted by many other people over the years into an system of infinite possibilities.
How does it work?
It’s a planner – just like the paper ones you can buy, but you design it. You can create monthly calendars – either buy hand or buy/print one out to stick into your journal. Or you can write to-do lists in them, you can write lists of anything you can think of in them. Or you can have one day to a page, or multiple days – you can change this setup whenever you want/need. It can be beautifully decorated or beautifully minimal – or a balance of the two. It is your planner, your world – and that’s what I love about it.
Where to start?
Start on YouTube or on the official bullet journal website. Start with a notebook (any notebook) and pen (or pencil) and write a to-do list. Write an inspiring quote. Write/draw anything. Let your imagination run free, put the endless tasks down on paper instead of carrying them around in your head, draw, doodle, write your feelings, record the weather, track habits like daily exercise, how much water you’re drinking…literally anything.
