March has had its challenges. In some ways, it feels like it’s been one long challenge. Nothing has gone quite to plan. I had a setback with my mental health, and some stressful life-shaped events, and the weather has been far too cold for March. I’m hoping April will be better, and more like spring! I’m trying to re-centre myself, bringing my thoughts and intentions back to where they were at the start of the year. I’ve come off my track, but it’s never impossible to climb back on.
Overall, writing hasn’t been great this month. I did finish draft three of Elondria, but I’m not happy with the last act, the ending. It’s still bothering me, but I don’t quite know how to fix it. I got bogged down with the technicalities of writing, and toward the end of the month decided to let it go, and return to writing with the old freedom I used to have. Next month (or this month now): CampNaNo and draft two of Rabbit!
- Buffy: The Book of Fours by Nancy Holder – a guilty pleasure read.
- The Hand of Isis by Jo Graham – loved this more than I expected.
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens – boy, was this a tough read!

- The Book That Made Me A Feminist – interesting Guardian feature.
